Now not so secret...*snicker*
Greek television presenter, Rania Thraskia, has gotten married in a secret ceremony with only family present. She of course told us all about it on Tuesday, like we really wanted to know. She looks happy which is good, but again, this thing was such a whirlwind that we don't know what the future holds. Especially considering she decided to get married right after coming out of a long-term relationship/engagement. There are also baby rumours, which she denies but I think it's quite likely to be true.
Now the funny part is that with all the planning for this thing to be secret, photos of the wedding surfaced on the front page of a newspaper this morning. She's not happy and has already lodged a formal complaint. These are not even paparazzi shots, they look like they belong in a wedding album. Did the wedding photographer or one of the guests get greedy and sell the photos to the newspaper? And she apparently handpicked those guests, not even letting her own grandmother and cousins know about it. Only her parents, brother etc and the groom's side obviously were there. Gosh, those blabber mouth grandmothers and cousins, who knows who they might have told if they'd known. *rolls eyes* But they've all seen the photos now, including all of Greece and anyone really as the newspaper also has a website. Serves her right for...well, being annoying since I don't like her, and for plotting such a cloak and dagger affair only for it all to unravel with the publication of the photos. *snicker snicker*
Something odd she does constantly which she did again when speaking about the wedding on Tuesday is when mentioning her ex-fiance, Gregory, she always makes sure to say the end was oristiko (final). They had such an on-off thing going on that many people didn't believe it would have a finality to it. Is she trying to convince the viewers or herself of that fact? Protesting far too much on that issue, I think. Anyway, she also said her relationship with Gregory ended in the sweetest way possible. Wow, so sweet that when she and Gregory ended up at the same event just a week before her secret wedding they didn't even say hello? For two people who had been best friends for almost 15 years prior to their relationship/engagement/almost wedding, that doesn't say sweet. Then again, it's probably easier for both of them this way, considering their history.
The only person I feel sorry for is Gregory, who would have seen these photos too. Poor guy, like finding out she'd secretly gotten married wasn't bad enough. He's such a sweet guy that he even congratulated her on her wedding and wished her well live from his show on Tuesday morning. Now that is class. His eyes didn't quite mask that he was hurting but it was a nice gesture. Not to worry Gregory, one day she'll realise she married the wrong man, however late that may be. Gosh, I feel like I should make a Team Gregory t-shirt, like those Jolie and Aniston ones!
There doesn't appear to be a lot of news at the moment in Greek showbiz, except for marriages! If it's not a pregnancy, it's a marriage. Either that or Eurovision, but more on that later.
There are rumours that Anna Vissi secretly got married in London. If she managed it without dozens of Greek paparazzi's there snapping at her every moment, then good on her. I have no idea whether the rumour is true or not, but congratulations to her if it is.
Everyone is also waiting for the wedding of Ellh Stah, I don't know how many marriages this will be for her but I suppose she's found love again despite her age (not that she doesn't look fabulous for her age, I want to look that good when I'm older!), so the wedding is surely coming soon. Apparently that wedding is supposed to happen in London too, the greek celebs are all trying to get away from the Greek paparazzi apparently. Not to worry though, they'll all get there anyway I'm sure.
And onto someone I can't seem to like, despite previously having been somewhat of a fan, Rania Thraskia, who after coming out of an engagement last year and with about 4 months of a new relationship with some dentist behind her, has decided she's already getting married. Jealous of her friend Sissy Xristidou perhaps and is trying to do everything all at once? Either way, the woman is impossible to understand. She used to come across as sweet, but whenever you see her on the news or even on her show, she just comes across as cold and unlikeable. It's too much of a change. Quite scary really. The dentist will get scared if she fixes him with one of her icy cold looks. Brrrr!
Okay, we get she's trying to move forward as that seems to be her catchphrase, but like I've said before, do it logically, don't become a different person altogether! So, the wedding is supposed to happen in June and will be her second marriage. Nor do I think it will be her last. When you're not getting married for the right reasons, seem to have taken on a personality change which started when your last relationship ended and are rushing into a marriage so soon after having come out of an engagement, it doesn't scream of something that will be long lasting.
Roula Brohopoulou hasn't been seen a lot lately which is a shock, but no, she's back and still insisting she can get her ex-husband, 29 years her junior and a gold-digger to boot back. Enough already! She needs a serious dose of reality and also is giving her ex-husband the satisfaction of knowing she's still after him. Show some restraint at least, some ego is healthy. She's embarrassing women everywhere with her antics!
Grhgorh Arnaoutoglou needs to stop working quite so hard and start looking after himself as well. He does that yo-yo thing with his weight every few months (much like Oprah) and he's been looking a little thin up top as well. He had such a thick head of hair before! I think he probably started losing it from stress, surely inflicted by his highly publicised and also quite tragic romance with television presenter Rania Thraskia. The poor guy also seems to still be in love with her but apparently has not had any luck proving it to her. Ah well, I guess all he can do is keep trying or if he's decided he's ready, to move on.
Which brings me to Rania Thraskia herself who seems to need to get her head checked. The show she hosts has to do with psychology...perhaps she should become a guest also? For a woman who previously never spoke about or did anything to publicise her personal life she's doing it quite well now. She's also dragging her new flame, a dentist, along with her. A method of causing even more pain to her ex-fiance, Grhgorh Arnaoutoglou? He clearly did something to hurt her or she wouldn't have reacted the way she did but seriously, everyone is sick of it all by now. So what should she do? She could start by actually reading her old interviews to find out what she used to be like and leave this new version of herself at home. If you're going to move forward as she thinks she's doing, at least do it logically!
Roula Koromhla has had a difficult few years but she certainly deserves a break by now. She's been missing from television for a long time and certainly should have a chance at a comeback. Her health issues have prevented her from returning to television and with personal issues on top of that such as her divorce, it's no wonder she's been AWOL. However, if she waits much longer there won't be much of a chance at a return, she's not getting any younger after all!
So many women in Greek showbiz are pregnant that it's hard to keep up with them. The unfortunate part about this baby boom is that most of them are unmarried. These things are best done the right way around girls!
Anna Maria Papaharalambos and Fani Mouratidi are expecting their first child. The pair met on the set of their tv show and love bloomed from there. Life imitating art in this case

The funeral of Greek Archbishop Christodoulos was held on Thursday 31 January at 10am Greek time, after the 69 year old lost his battle with cancer in the early hours of Monday morning.
The funeral was a tribute to a man who devoted his life to the church and was attended by Greece's prominent political and religious figures, along with the men, women and children who crammed the streets outside in order to get one last glimpse of the Archbishop before he was taken to his final resting place

Annita Pania gave birth to a healthy baby boy on New Year's Day, mother and baby are now both at home doing well and Nikos Karvelas is a proud dad once again. Now, other than the fact that the baby will take one look at him once he's able to talk and call him grandpa, all is well. The two also had a political wedding and are going to have a full ceremony for their family and friends some time this year.
Elli Kokkinou has finally told everyone that she is indeed pregnant and is well and truly starting to show now as well. Pregnancy seems to suit her, she's absolutely glowing

A story that was brewing for over a year in the Greek showbiz circle is that of singer Pashalis Arvanitidis and the woman that came out and stated her child was fathered by him.
Pashalis is one of the 'old' singers in the industry, he's had years of experience and has never shown himself to be anything but an upstanding and a devoted family man. He has been married to his wife, a lawyer by occupation, for over 20 years and when the story broke no one believed it to be true

Message to Roula Broxopoulou - there is such a thing as going on too many channels and giving too many interviews. Yes we know you're just devastated that your marriage to Fran, who is I don't know how many years younger than you ended...29 perhaps? We now know more about your marriage and break-up than we ever wanted to and your face has been constantly plastered across every single Greek channel. Enough already, he was a gold-digger and you fell for it. How long did you really think the marriage would last? Just stop blubbering on all the channels and seriously trying the nerves of the Greek public.
Another sob story comes in the form of Greek television presenter Rania Thraskia deciding that it's time we wanted to hear about her personal life in an interview for magazine Down Town. Considering her usual stance on talking about those things, it's obviously just to drum up publicity for her show. Either way, she tells us she can't go back to her on-off again relationship with Grhgorh Arnaoutoglou and is currently in mourning about it. Koitaw mprosta...she's looking forward. Watch out you don't trip and fall with all that looking forward you think you're doing

Dhmhtra Roumpesh is going to regret speaking. Just mentioning a dream (romantic of course, with a lot of people in it) a few weeks ago on her show, has caused it to be highly talked about. First there's the amazing Lakis Lazopoulos who satirizes it on his show beautifully and now comic, Marko Seferlh who went to the show Autos Mas Eleipe, hosted by Dhmhtra and her husband (who has had a fabulous time with this dream business!) Andreas Mikroutsikos, wearing a t-shirt that read, "Hmoun ki egw sto oneiro". In English, 'I was in the dream too'. Andrea seemed to take it in stride and Dhmhtra luckily seems to think the entire situation following her sharing the dream to be quite funny. That's the way Dhmhtra. After the catch phrase "Hmoun ki egw sto asanser" from the brilliant show Para Pente, the new catchphrase seems to be "Hmoun ki egw sto oneiro".
On a side note, concerning the show Autos Mas Elepie, I have one thing to say - I miss Thanasi Patra! Hopefully we'll see him back on television soon with a great project
