And the race has begun

After the summer hiatus in Greece, the shows are all back on, except for some new tv shows coming in October.
Last week Eleni Menegaki returned to her throne as the Queen of the morning shows, and this time, Gregory Arnaoutoglou started with her! The two shows have never started on the same day so it was interesting to have this comparison in the ratings. The ratings were very close, with Eleni retaining her crown by the smallest margin with Gregory and his show Omorfos Kosmos to Proi right behind her.
The other three morning shows on ANT1, Star and Alter are as usual now lagging behind. For Marietta who had started much earlier with H Ellada Paizei and was enjoying higher numbers simply because she had no opposition, the numbers have dwindled dramatically, she's barely getting 10%. Ah well, I hope she enjoyed it while it lasted because I don't see those numbers improving much, with Eleni and Gregory back in the game!
Onto the weekend morning shows, Natalia Germanou with her new show Mes tin Kalh Xara came out on top over Sofia Aliberti and the show Kalomeleta kai Erxetai. I like Natalia's new show, and she also has Sissy Xristidou with her, previous co-host on Omorfos Kosmos to Proi with Gregory. Sissy gave birth to a baby boy in August and now wants to take it easy, which is why she opted for a weekend project rather than a daily show as she was on previously. She's definitely talented in her field and is still in the early stages of her career in television. I do think she has what it takes to continue to make her mark in the industry. Natalia, Sissy and the rest of the gang provide some fun viewing on the weekend. On the other hand, Kalomeleta kai Erxetai, is disappointing. Sofia Aliberti should stick to acting, rather than presenting. She's a much better actress than television presenter in my opinion.
In general though, there is too much mixing of careers in the Greek television industry. If I see one more model turned actress turned television presenter turned singer, I think I may scream!
